![]() ![]() We are still researching the mystery of the B cast plates. Many Kline Graphic Barettas have been seen with the B plates. These plates showing up on American Series guitars is somewhat of of a mystery, as we don't know if those were used for American Series guitars assembled in Japan, or if it was for another purpose. These were thought to have been used on Focus "Classic" models and various overseas type models. There are versions of a B plate that are cast metal, that showed up in the later years for Kramer. Usually, they sport a first letter, then have another letter prefixing the number. ![]() Some "A" and "B" plates have been spotted on overseas guitars. ex: A A1234 -ġ982-84 "Classic", "Chicken Beak" headstocks (B2000s-C5000s) - Necks Made by ESP - Bodies by Sports Logo, Made in USA and serial number stamped These serial numbers do not pertain to the new line of Kramers from Musicyo.ġ981-82 Strat copy headstocks (A8000s-B2000) - Necks Made by ESP - Bodies by Sports While there are several places on Vintage Kramer to learn about serial numbers, here is a rundown of serial numbers, with year models and distiguishing characteristics for I.D. Here's something that might help with the serial number: This was his personal guitar and as such has some expected player wear. The OFR would be worth that money at least mate. Purchased from the original owner, my friend Billy Thomas, the founder of the Brooklyn Woodworker's Co-Op. In the Kramer production book, NS-6 #003 is properly noted as having a completion date in October 1987 and a fixed bridge, but its finish was incorrectly recorded as a Solid Black Gloss. This guitar has solid non-figured maple body wings, a pau ferro fretboard with 24 frets, gold hardware including a Schaller one piece hardtail bridge and straplocks, and a beautiful Red Stain Gloss finish. Rumored to be the only NS-6 made with the tilted humbucker, however I remember seeing one more guitar made with this feature.Īfter receiving this guitar, original owner Billy Thomas custom made the bridge pickup to fit the tilted rout, and used a Spector branded single coil for the neck position pickup. Also personally I prefer to play and maintain NS-6 guitars like this one, with a hardtail style bridge.Ī tilted humbucker in the bridge position was a Kramer guitar spec in the 1980s. ![]() I have owned a few of these guitars, and all of these had the same pleasing "chime" to their tone. This is one of less than 200 NS-6 electric guitars made in the USA during the Spector/Kramer era. ![]()
